Child Development Centers

GIVE INDIA HOPE is working in the midst of the most dire of the Indian communities: the Dalit (the lowest rank in the Indian caste system society) and the Tribal (those untouched by the lifestyle of the modern world). We are working in remote and slum areas to give these children a better future. In response to their plea, we established GIVE INDIA HOPE for Dalit and Tribal children. I want to make the needs of the Dalit and Tribal Communities known to people who care about others and would provide help to raise these people, especially the children out of this doomed lifestyle.

Child trafficking is prevalent in India. When families find that they have too many mouths to feed and not enough money, it is common for parents to become prey for traffickers who pressure, pay, or deceive them into handing over their children. These children may fall prey to being sold into slavery, either for sexual exploitation or for hard labor. Other illegal activities these children may be forced into include: drug peddling, organ trade, entertainment and sports, adoption, or marriage.

The following are statistics from the U.S. Department of State regarding child labor and trafficking in India:
More than 2.3 million girls and women are believed to be in India's sex industry.
It is believed that more than 200,000 persons are trafficked into, within, or through India annually.
15% of India's estimated 2.3 million prostitutes are children.

These conditions have produced the statistic that only about 60% of orphans aged 10-14 go to a school of any kind. This lack of education leads to a cycle of poverty that re-creates these conditions generation after generation. Any serious consideration of assistance to the poor in India must be accompanied by an interest in stemming the root cause of the poverty and breaking this generational cycle. Give India Hope's solution involves not just centers for the children, but education and a long-term vision.

Jesus Holy Church Ministry is currently working in 300 villages towards the goal of reaching 1000 villages in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. It is the poorest of the poor that reside in these villages, so we are striving to reach out to those who are impoverished and destitute. As a result, we see so many needs, and it is often the children who suffer the most. It is our hope to launch a Child Development Center in all 13 of our branch churches that are in rural, slum, and remote villages and in Hyderabad. The government schools in India do not give preference to teach the English language. Children who are not well versed in the English language have far less opportunities to make a living when they grow up. There are Private Schools that teach the English language, but this adds a tuition expense to families who already are impoverished. GIVE INDIA HOPE recognizes the need for children to learn the English language. These centers were established in the slum areas to help the children out of the cycle of poverty and to care for their physical needs. At these centers we teach the children the English language; tutor them in their school work; provide a hot meal for them; and disciple them with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Please support one child for $35 a month. Your support will change this child's life and better equip him to get out of poverty.
